A jewel in the Peak District, Buxton sits high in the Pennine range of hills that reach down through England from the Scottish Border. A Spa town it attracted the titled, the famous and is still today a magnet for tourists.

Successive Dukes of Devonshire have taken a keen interest in Buxton, proven by the impressive buildings dotted through the town. One Of which is the impressive Opera House alongside which sits the elegant Winter Garden. An elegant, glass encased thoroughfare through which you can walk when the weather is being especially British. Part greenhouse, part place to see and be seen a Winter Garden was a feature of many a resort town. Sheffield in south Yorkshire has a modern day equivalent built on the site of demolished office blocks.
