
One of the things I like to discover on my wanderings are the old, painted wall advertisements. There’s two examples here, one from Buxton in Derbyshire and from Edinburgh, Scotland’s stately capital.
I like the hide and seek quality of finding them and the contrast between the ones that have been renovated and restored and those that are now slowly fading echoes of a past now gone.
Donald’s of Edinburgh are still in business while the Maypole Dairy once a feature of Buxton’s Spring Gardens is no more.
