PRESTON. A Day out On The Bus.

The weather is still stuck in “Unfriendly” mode but sitting in looking out at the world outside is not one of my favourite ways to pass the time so it was on with the big coat and out on the bus to Preston.

A couple of years ago now I took a rail trip out to North Wales, to the slate town of Blaenau Ffestiniog. The route was out to Llandudno Junction on the North Wales line to Holyhead and then down the valley of the River Conwy.

Well as the temperatures outside bounce around between cold, very cold and really really cold my list compiling for places to visit goes on. Buxton, the Derbyshire spa town has been added to the 2023 list.

Sitting at the tip of the Black Isle Cromarty is home to the Ferry across the mouth of the Cromarty Firth to Nigg on the northern shore.

The winter planning continues, though as I look out of the window I wonder if summer is ever coming back or was it just a figment of my imagination.

On my travels, I’m heading down to Shrewsbury to catch up with a friend before Christmas takes over and the roast dinner/ chocolate/ drink event horizon hits. This journey down Through the Welsh borderlands is a favourite of mine, each season adds a different flavour. Today’s is a light dusting of snow and a crisp, sharp light cutting through an idling mist.
