GRANGE over SANDS. A Walk Along The Prom.

The presently closed Lido on the end of the promenade which curves along Morecambe Bay from the towns railway station. There is a local campaign for the Lido to be refurbished and reopened.

The winter planning continues, though as I look out of the window I wonder if summer is ever coming back or was it just a figment of my imagination.

Grange over Sands, nestling at the top of Morecambe Bay is a regular destination. It’s a quiet, peaceful place, a walk along the prom restores the mind and the soul. A favourite way there is by train, passing through Carnforth station of “Brief Encounter” fame then from Arnside skimming across the River Kent estuary on the viaduct, sometimes lucky enough to see the tides changing and watching the channels fill or empty as the waters surge in and out of Morecambe Bay.
