FRODSHAM. A Thursday Afternoon In The Sun.

Ever so slowly the brakes are coming off and life is starting the long haul back to normal. To take advantage of this opening window a took a short train ride to the Cheshire market town of Frodsham.

Every once in a while a shot comes along that is just so right only a fool would walk by and not get the camera out and push the shutter button. This is one such image.

A favourite area of mine to travel to is West Yorkshire. A favourite town there is Huddersfield. A short walk up the hill from the railway station is Greenhead Park, I have a soft spot for town parks. Especially the Victorian ones, often created as green lungs for the workforce to enjoy on their day away from the workplace.

At last the year is slowly feeling like it’s getting into gear. The little hints are there, daylight is no longer packing its bags for the day mid afternoon and plants and the like are beginning to shuffle off the winter inertia and jiggle back into life. The queue at my bird table is livening up as well and I’ve already had a couple of adventurous bees bumbling around the few spring flowers that have made the brave decision to open.

Well the year is rolling by and picking up speed a little as the drudgery of the Winter months start to fade and sunshine becomes a little less of a stranger.
Easy travelling is still a little way off as yet, so I’ve taken another trip in my photographical time machine to revisit 2007 and Whitby on the North Yorkshire coast.

I’m sat in my little spare bedroom of an office watching the rain hammer down outside, which is I suppose preferable to being out in it. Even without the current sadnesses and difficulties, this is a part of the year that always drags for me. Daylight is still on the scarce side and the weather is as unpredictable as a half starved Bugblatter Beast from Traal ( yes it’s the kind of weather where a Hoopy Frood needs to know where his towel is #HGTTG )
