So hello from Liverpool. It’s the weekend of the Eurovision Song Contest, being held in the city on behalf of Ukraine for reasons we are all aware of. Now the day’s are doing their exercises and stretching a bit more. It’s no longer getting dark at four in the afternoon but nearer six thirty so I can start to hit some of my favourite destinations as well as sniffing out some new ones.
Lytham is on the branch line that runs from the main line to Blackpool North, it leaves that route at Kirkham & Wesham and heads down towards the coast on the estuary of the River Ribble as it flows out towards the Irish Sea.
It’s a flit about day, one of those peppered with lots of little jobs, the mouse sized ones that hide in life’s skirting boards and spring out when you least expect them. Anyway,I’m taking a break from them with a coffee and bacon sandwich in the 2 Brothers Coffee shop in the BookStop bookstore. Normal service resumes shortly.
Outside the skies are gray, the wind is blowing and the rain is falling. Not the best of evenings. But on the plus side March is nearly here and Spring is creeping ever closer. The returning pleasures of long days and sunshine, throwing off the mole like hibernating habits of winter.
