The clocks here in the UK have long since gone into summer time mode so it’s time to be out and about again. There’s nothing to be gained letting a day go to waste, life doesn’t give refunds.
It’s a little while since I’ve been out to the Thursday street market at Ormskirk, it’s on Saturdays too, so that was the perfect excuse to get out of the house for a few hours.
I took the train into Liverpool Lime Street then headed across to Central Station to pick up a Northern Line train up to Ormskirk. New Trains are being introduced on Merseyrail’s network so it would be a chance to please my inner railway geek with a ride on a new train.

The new trains really are a step up but they would be given the older ones are nudging fifty years old. The run up to Ormskirk was really smooth with all the modern toys of in flight progress reports and announcements a plenty.
Food was the first order of the day on arrival, I try to have a spread of places to choose from, this time Cobble lost out and had the dubious pleasure of my custom. The fish finger butty hit just the right spot.
