YORK. Thinking About Planning A Visit.

The year is starting to tumble towards a close. I know that September has only just stepped up to the mark but it’s about now that things start to go a bit Helter Skelter.

The year is starting to tumble towards a close. I know that September has only just stepped up to the mark but it’s about now that things start to go a bit Helter Skelter.

A Little while ago I took a trip out to Hull on the east coast. Things had begun the long return to normal and I needed to visit a place I either hadn’t been to before or hadn’t been to for a long time. After a bit of head scratching and no I didn’t get any splinters in my fingers, I decided on a revisit to Hull.

I had a day out planned for today. I’d done some research, checked the timetables AND taken a look at the weather forecast.

A favourite area of mine to travel to is West Yorkshire. A favourite town there is Huddersfield. A short walk up the hill from the railway station is Greenhead Park, I have a soft spot for town parks. Especially the Victorian ones, often created as green lungs for the workforce to enjoy on their day away from the workplace.

The weather had at last taken a turn for the better, the sun was high in the sky and the breeze was warm. There had been a run of grey, wet days and I needed to get out of the house and into the world outside. Todmorden in Yorkshire, though once half of it was in Lancashire with the boundary going through the Town Hall. I was on the station and waiting for the train into Leeds while across the way and waiting for nothing in particular was what I took to be the station cat, he certainly had that cat way of owning wherever he laid his head.
