Standing just off the Square proper is the tall, red brick tower of Hamilton Square Railway station.
I’ve a couple of routes to chose from on my wanderings across the Wirral, the thumb like area that faces Liverpool on the one side and North Wales on the other.
As you head out of Birkenhead towards Bidston and the road starts to climb, a short way down to your left you will find Flaybrick Memorial gardens, formerly Flaybrick Cemetery.
