PRESTON. A Day out On The Bus.

The weather is still stuck in “Unfriendly” mode but sitting in looking out at the world outside is not one of my favourite ways to pass the time so it was on with the big coat and out on the bus to Preston.

Right the days are starting to stretch themselves, second by second they get longer, brighter but as yet not much warmer. So the race it hotting up ( see what I did there) to get out on the trail again, get some trips organised before Autumn creeps around the corner bringing his icy friend with him and the year starts to shut down again.

Going back to my rail journey along the Conwy Valley and up to Blaenau Ffestiniog, I was making my way back to the station, it’s that thing when you’re retracing your steps you seen all the things you didn’t see when you were walking the other way. The change of viewpoint, a different angle of view, throws up odd corners and alleyways that suddenly gain an added level of interest. […]

More combing through the files looking for travel inspiration for this coming year. I travel up to Newcastle upon Tyne from time to time and a favourite place to break the journey, yes cake and coffee, is the Cumbrian market town of Brampton.

It’s been a trip to Chester day today. A bit on the cool side still but as always it’s good to get out and about. There were some Chinese New Year celebrations in progress, I caught up with them as they paraded along Northgate Street. Food was also checked out, it was a cold day after all and calories warm you up. So that was the day, short but sweet. […]

Well as the temperatures outside bounce around between cold, very cold and really really cold my list compiling for places to visit goes on. Buxton, the Derbyshire spa town has been added to the 2023 list.
