Thursday last was one of those days. I was at home trying to work through stuff but I knew that I wasn’t making any real progress. Days like this come and go so I’ve developed an approach that works for me. If I’m not getting anywhere with the days jobs, I just leave it and go out for a couple of hours, come back and start again. I know not everybody has the luxury of downing tools when they want to this is just me and my situation.
A little way to the north east of the city centre lies the beautiful wooded valley of Jesmond Dene, the waters of the Ouseburn flowing through on their way to meet the Tyne.
Well I’m sitting here in my little office at the end of another cold, grey and wet day. Winter is so much fun at times.
I took a ride out to Lytham at the weekend and what began as an indifferent day blossomed into a glorious afternoon and evening. A favourite spot on my visits, apart from places selling coffee & cake, is Lowther Gardens just off the town centre and home to the lovely Lowther Pavilion theatre. I’m sat in my little spare bedroom of an office watching the rain hammer down outside, which is I suppose preferable to being out in it. Even without the current sadnesses and difficulties, this is a part of the year that always drags for me. Daylight is still on the scarce side and the weather is as unpredictable as a half starved Bugblatter Beast from Traal ( yes it’s the kind of weather where a Hoopy Frood needs to know where his towel is #HGTTG )
