I took a trip into North Wales at the weekend. Train into Bangor then the bus onward to Caernarvon. The weather could have been a little kinder but it was a day out and there were photos to track down.

I am sat in the lovely and welcoming Hive Cafe. It’s my first visit to the town and as usual I’ve walked more than I expected to. So that’s why I’m sat here now with a mug of tea, gathering my thoughts before I catch the train back home. Okay, things sorted and making my way back to the station. The weather is turning a bit unfriendly, dark clouds are gathering overhead like Macbeth’s witches. I have a liking for Wrexham, it’s a little bit careworn in places so it hasn’t been completely scrubbed clean of any character or the tucked away corners the I like exploring.

Events move on. A change of plan means I’m on my way to Wrexham. I’m traveling down the Wirral by the Borderlands Route to Wrexham General station. I’ll offer a thought, I know new trains are a coming in would it be worth considering then to extend services back to New Brighton at the Wirral end? I had a day out planned for today. I’d done some research, checked the timetables AND taken a look at the weather forecast.

After my very pleasant lunch I took at walk away from the buzz of the city centre, and headed out to the nearby coast. The Menai Strait flows fast here, separating the mainland from the Isle of Angelsey. The salt laden breeze was sharp and fresh as I ambled along the coastal path.
