BANGOR. The Lion On The Wall.

I took a trip into North Wales at the weekend. Train into Bangor then the bus onward to Caernarvon. The weather could have been a little kinder but it was a day out and there were photos to track down.

A Little while ago I took a trip out to Hull on the east coast. Things had begun the long return to normal and I needed to visit a place I either hadn’t been to before or hadn’t been to for a long time. After a bit of head scratching and no I didn’t get any splinters in my fingers, I decided on a revisit to Hull.

The day unfolds, what started out as an unpromising day has blossomed nicely in Chester. The city is a regular go to place, there’s always plenty going on, the area around the Town Hall and market is currently being redeveloped. These things can either end well…….or less so….. I’m taking a break from jam and chutney making, yes my rock and roll lifestyle, with a few hours on the Fylde Coast at Lytham. The town is one of my favourite get away spots, even on a busy day […]

It is a rule or if it isn’t it should be. A visit to the seaside must include fish and chips. I have a favourite chippy, actually I have a couple but this one fight’s its way to the top fairly often. It’s located in the village of Knott End, just across the mouth of the River Wyre from Fleetwood. The journey by the ferry is only a few minutes, […]

It Friday and isn’t market day down in Earlestown. It’s a traditional open market that pulls into town once a week like a wagon train of the old Wild West. Like the decent market it is it’s offerings a wide and varied and of course it’s as much a social and gossip exchanging hub as a shopping experience.
