A week or so ago I was up in the Highland capital that is Inverness, the meeting point where the River Ness tumbles out of the hills and into the waters of the Moray Firth. The sun was still beating down but the air was now beginning to catch a cooling edge as autumn creeps stealthily in. In the evening a walk about the city centre by sheer coincidence took in a couple of the bars and pubs. Not quite certain how that came about, just one of those serendipitous things that happen when you aren’t looking I suppose.
