The travels, musings and thoughts of a man and his camera.

THE LAKE DISTRICT. A few Loose Ends.

A fence post becomes a corner shop for all your nest building needs.

Just a little tidy up from yesterday’s bus heavy trip to the Lake District. The weather held good and the English county of Cumbria looked pretty and pretty busy in parts. I know that public transport isn’t to everyone’s taste but it made a pleasant change yesterday, Someone else was doing the driving, all I had to do was sit back and watch some magnificent landscapes roll past.

Kendal, bus station black & white, I’ve never been a great fan of concrete. There is a little café at the far end though so all is not lost to the altar of functionalism.

Conversations help pass the time.

A splash of colour and a little history on an alleyway wall.

Mountains, trees and water on Derwentwater’s Strandshag Bay.

A thoughtful pint to end the day. ( see previous entries on this point ), It’s an American amber beer, Buffalo from the Fire Island Brewery, very
smooth, could get you into trouble.
Take the bus through the hills.
