Sheffield is a favourite destination. I’m no expert of the South Yorkshire city but I’m working on it. It’s a relatively easy place for me to get to. By car, if I have to, I take the route through Derbyshire and the Snake Pass. The preferred option though is the train. There’s a regular through service from Warrington which is straightforward for me to get to.

Travel is still on the problematical side so I’m going to take a journey in my time travelling blog back to July of 2019 and a day trip I made down to Cardiff. The place is Liverpool, the dateline line is August 2014. I’m making my way across the city from Lime Street station on my way to the Wirral. It’s a town I have a liking for, perhaps a little careworn in places but there’s plenty to take in and see. The market is a delight, with a market hall and an open market. While just off the […]
Slowly catching up with 2020, think I’m nearly there. As usual my Christmas was being sorted on the hoof as the last few days of the year and the decade tumbled past. Luckily I only needed a few bits and pieces so I headed over to Chorley knowing that I would be certain of a good chance of getting what I was looking for. Plus it was a Tuesday which […]
Well, it’s that lull between Christmas now past, and the yet to arrive New Year. Those few days where you hang about in a festive limbo, gathering your thoughts and getting your breath back after sustained attacks on the turkey with all the trimmings and bouts of serious cracker pulling. I decided to get out of the house and get some fresh air but as it’s still that time of […]
