LLANDUDNO. Onward to the Seaside!

Okay, bear with me a moment. A couple of posts ago I was working through a day trip into North Wales, to Conwy and on to Llandudno. I’d posted about Conwy and my walk around the town and its walls. Then I’d posted on L’s the Cafe cum bookshop and the excellent bacon roll I’d eaten there. Important thing a good bacon roll, blogging is hard work you know. I’d […]

GLOSSOP. Coffee in Derbyshire.

Okay so run with me on this one. As anybody who’s read any of my ramblings on this blog will know I am more than fond of of coffee, cake and rail travel and few weeks ago I managed to combine all three one Saturday afternoon. Where I live I’m lucky enough to have access to a selection of travel tickets. One of which, the Wayfarer covers a large area […]

EDINBURGH. A Day At The Fringe.

One of the annual treats I look forward to is a visit to Edinburgh when the Festival and Fringe are on. The weather had been doing its usual see-sawing between excellent weather and awful but the forecast suggested that there was going to be an improvement for a few days so I took a chance and booked myself […]

LIVERPOOL. A Visit From A Queen.

There was a Royal visitor to the River Mersey this week, Cunard’s Queen Mary II, currently the largest cruise liner afloat at 79,000 tonnes. Don’t worry I won’t be hitting you over the head with long lists of facts and figures. Just selection of images from the evening. That said the liner has it’s own planetarium for all you seagoing stargazers. The Cunard Line’s connection with Liverpool goes back to […]

HESKIN. Big Boys Toys.

This is a picture heavy post but there’s really no other way of giving a true flavour of the event. For the last few years a regular fixture on my calendar has been the Vintage & Steam Rally and Country Fair. Held near the village of Heskin, to the south of Preston in Lancashire. This year’s was the 27th holding of the two day get together of vehicles and agricultural […]
