Right, a bit of an action packed day today in the company of Alistair K. It started with a trip up to Glasgow from north west England. Arrival there was a little delayed so the trot across Glasgow Central was a little brisker than intended. No problem we still made the Wemyss Bay train comfortably.

Wemyss Bay station is a glorious thing from the heyday of the River Clyde steamers and “going doon the water” for your holidays. From here we caught the ferry across to Rothsay on the Isle of Bute.
We had an hour or so in Rothesay, time for a coffee and a pie.

Before heading back to the mainland and catching the bus down to Largs.
At Largs it was a short ferry hop across to Cumbrae

Then it was a short bus ride to Millport to take in the sites.

Then it was back to the ferry and into Glasgow. I type this as the train speeds southwards through the rolling border hills.
