Finally I made it to the River and the Pier Head where the action was going to be taking place in the Liverpool Arena. An on the spur of the moment decision has brought me to Shrewsbury. It was a bit of a faff getting out of the house but I’m here now, just recharging myself with latte and toast before hitting the town. Outside the skies are gray, the wind is blowing and the rain is falling. Not the best of evenings. But on the plus side March is nearly here and Spring is creeping ever closer. The returning pleasures of long days and sunshine, throwing off the mole like hibernating habits of winter.

The Telephone Box, not the time travelling blue one but the everyday, sometimes slightly smelly, red one. Once a feature on every street corner, they are now disappearing at a faster and faster rate, their purpose in life falling victim to the now ubiquitous mobile.

A bus ride I enjoy is out under the Mersey and onward through Birkenhead and on to New Brighton. Sometimes if the weather is decent I break the journey at Liscard for a walk around Central Park
