MANCHESTER. The Little Face On The Wall.

Sometimes when I’m out and about I get the feeling I’m being watched. With a face like mine I’ve sort of got used to being given the occasional sideways look.

Continuing the evening theme. A glimpse of Miller Park in Preston at the end of a December day. No snow but a crisp, clear sky. The shadows lengthen like pencil marks across the page of the day. The fountain glints like a jewelled spray and the setting sun tints with a warming glow. Trees stand leafless waiting for Spring to hurry along and get to its work. Drop off the tram by the North Euston Hotel, cross the road to the promenade and by the big chippy you’ll find the ramp down to the Wyre Ferry.

Well hello there from Lancaster bus station. No trains, or at least very few so it’s Plan B time. Up here by car, bus onwards up into the Lakes. I’ve a couple of destinations in mind, I’ll see what the weather decides to do and make it up as I go along. So that’s the state of play at the moment. Other updates to follow.

Okay so I ate the croissant. Today’s expedition is to the Lake District, not got off to the most organized of starts, auto ticket machines are not the most straightforward things to use. Anyway sat sitting waiting for the next train north so that’s and excuse ( like I ever see need one ) for a coffee and a croissant.
