CHORLEY. Saying It With Flowers.

It was the weekend of the annual flower show and naturally I hadn’t been sice last year. Shows like this are the sort of events I really enjoy. Outdoors, demonstrations, plenty to see and hear, plenty fun to be had.

It was to the coast for me last weekend, to Morecambe for the Vintage By The Sea festival.
It’s an event I only dropped onto last year though it has been running for a while. It’s an excuse to raid the dressing up box and polish, or get your chauffeur , to polish the drop head Bentley or elegant Alvis and pootle along to the seaside.

Well here in the UK, the August Bank Holiday has been upon us, you can tell that because the weather has been on the unfriendly side yet again. Nevertheless events have been held and people have been out and about, braving whatever rains down from the skies.

Finally I made it to the River and the Pier Head where the action was going to be taking place in the Liverpool Arena. This was the crowd magnet for the day and the sun was blessing the city and the waterfront. My refreshing pint finished I’m now heading down to the Pier Head. The crowds are filling up the nearer I get to the action, I’m glad I took a break further out. My route is past the bombed out St. Nick’s church, onto Bold Street, then Church Street to the Pier Head. Should be fun. Liverpool is always a street photographers dream, especially so this weekend.
