An on the spur of the moment decision has brought me to Shrewsbury. It was a bit of a faff getting out of the house but I’m here now, just recharging myself with latte and toast before hitting the town. It’s a flit about day, one of those peppered with lots of little jobs, the mouse sized ones that hide in life’s skirting boards and spring out when you least expect them. Anyway,I’m taking a break from them with a coffee and bacon sandwich in the 2 Brothers Coffee shop in the BookStop bookstore. Normal service resumes shortly.

The weather is still stuck in “Unfriendly” mode but sitting in looking out at the world outside is not one of my favourite ways to pass the time so it was on with the big coat and out on the bus to Preston.

Winter still has everywhere in a less than friendly grip, the grey days are dragging on. To get out and have have a shot of fresh, if cold air. I took myself off to Southport for a couple of hours.
