The weather has been on the un summery side lately, I know that for a fact after a very wet visit to the Llangollen Railway on a recent Saturday. The railway was fantastic, the weather wasn’t.

Anyway the Sunday just gone being the first one of the month meant that the monthly Makers Market would be on ( alliteration ahoy there ). I enjoy these events, they are always great venues for candid photography, the stalls are busy with the too-ing and fro-ing of people. There’s generally music on as well and then there’s the food. A cloud of exotic smells feeding its way through the stalls and taunting first your nose and then your stomach. I went for the pulled beef and cheese tacos this time around, the beef was cooked to a juicy meltedness and served with a gravy that wasn’t a stranger to chilli.

Not trusting the weather too much I used the car to get there, I think future trips, circumstances permitting , will be done by train. Quite apart from the Makers Market the town is a great place for a wander around. The network of streets cluster together and the open acres of Tatton Park sit just at the end of the street.

Lets see how the September event goes. Can I book some autumnal sunshine now please?
