Todmorden Market is one of my favorites, a proper market where you can buy things you want, not a recycled one where you can have scented candles in as many flavours as you want but not a whole lot else.

A dying breed indeed. Southport market has succumbed. I’ve no idea where to go to buy the wonderful Lancashire cheeses I used to be able to get there.

Do you get out to Garstang at all, the market hall there used to have a good cheese stall, market day is Thursday, I need to check it out myself. Bolton market is a good one too. The one on Ashburner Street.
