As you might already know I have a liking for proper Markets, the ones where you feel like actually buying something instead of walking around just looking. I had my Christmas fresh food shopping trip a couple of days before Christmas Eve. Though a bit subdued because of current circumstances there was a still a bounce about the place and choice to be had, as people scuttled about with shopping lists held out like some sort of mystical spell or safeguard.
In amongst all this noise and action was a small oasis of calm, the One For The Road bar in the general market hall. Conversation was a low murmur, beer was drunk in an appreciative manner and an air of peace lay about like freshly fallen snow.
One of these days I’ll get to try it myself.
