KESWICK. A Rainy Day In Hope Park.

It’s a Monday and I’m out and about, meeting up with my good friend and fellow photographer the G-Man (Gareth). For once I am reasonably organized, plus the trains made a great connection at Chester, which all means I am in one of my favorite places, the Shrewsbury Coffee House, with time to spare for a soothing latte and a bit of thought organizing. I had lunch in Chorley today and as usual I had a wander through Astley Park and up to the Hall. The was activity all around, Chorfest was up and running and preparations were in hand for the upcoming flower show. That’s in my diary for the upcoming weekend. It’s Saturday and I’m on my travels. The railways are still like playing roulette but you have to make the effort. The current plan is to Lancaster by train then the Lakes Rover bus ticket onwards, a bit of bet hedging coming into play there. After a flurry of cancellations things seem to have settled down so let’s see what the day brings. Things have settled down and trains are […]

A long drive up into southern Scotland was a pleasing way to spend the day. There was no particular agenda so there was no rush. The traffic was bearable and the weather was cooler than it had been so a drive down to Garlieston down by the water seemed a good way to break the journey. The Harbour Inn was welcoming and the beer was good. A win win as […]
