BIRKENHEAD. The Market, A Bacon Butty, The Park & A Squirrel

Thursday last was one of those days. I was at home trying to work through stuff but I knew that I wasn’t making any real progress. Days like this come and go so I’ve developed an approach that works for me. If I’m not getting anywhere with the days jobs, I just leave it and go out for a couple of hours, come back and start again. ORMSKIRK. Lunch In The Chapel.

The day started with a flurry of jobs being sorted out, the small, mouse bite sized ones, then there was a lull. I know nature hates a vacuum so I got out of the house before something else turned up to claim my time. I chose Ormskirk as my destination, Thursday is one of the two market days and the journey there is an easy one. Plus there’s a good […]

SHREWSBURY. Three Pubs, Three Pints.

Right just to tidy up my Shrewsbury trip so it can be put safely into the big box of stuff and memories.

Lately the UK has been enjoying a run of hot weather, very enjoyable it is too. As well as being something of a guilty pleasure to us natives. Sunshine? Warm weather? Somehow the British Isles must have drifted off nearer to the Mediterranean.
