SNAPSHOT! Shrewsbury Pitstop.

Right, I have just bopped off the train in Shrewsbury and have nimbly strolled across the street to the Shrewsbury Coffee House. The above is to kick start my visit. There will be other pitstops later, #fatrat.

It’s a Bank Holiday Saturday morning, the sun is high in the sky and there’s some traveling to be done. Today’s destination of choice is Shrewsbury, for no other reason than I haven’t been there for a while. I was a little early for the train so I took a look at the regular Saturday Fleamarket. Just to see if I could come away without buying anything. My attic already […]

I’ve made a start on the images from the Glasgow meet up expedition and found a few that wrap up the days proceedings. Another visit will be sorted and organised at some point. In the meantime memories will be kept gently simmering with these. It’s been another great day out, catching up with my good mate Gareth the G-Man. To ease the getting about we used the Glasgow Subway ( mode of transport not a sandwich chain ) and travelled out to Partick in the west of the city. It’s an interesting stretch, […]

Today I am heading north to my genetic homelands to meet up with my friend Gareth from Cardiff. Just go with that please. The day has the new minted, misty freshness I always enjoy. A soft focussed, impressionism that dresses a day with promise. And yes I have an extensive list of coffee/ cake/ fat rat establishments to carry the two of us through the day. I’m lucky in that I live within an easy striking distance of the English Lake District. It’s either a couple of hours or so in the car or a similar journey time by train to Windermere. Obviously it’s a popular destination which can make the roads busy so I have a preference for using the train. Not everyone’s cup of tea but it makes it worthwhile if I’m speeding along on the train and I pass traffic jams on the motorway’s or other roads.
