SNAPSHOT! Beaumaris, Wrapping Up The Day.

Keeping my completest streak happy, I thought I would wrap up my day out to Beaumaris, the day after in fact. I enjoyed the trip, yes it could have been a little bit brighter and warmer but it is the beginning of November so you get what you’re given weather wise. I had a walk around while I used up the last half an hour before the bus back to […]

SNAPSHOT! Beaumaris, Walkabout Time.

Right, I’d had my lunch, it was time to wobble onwards and walk off, or at least try to, my Welsh Rarebit. Beaumaris is a compact town, facing out across the Menai Straits to Bangor and the mainland of Wales. While it might be small it does reward with a mixture of corners and enterprises worth looking out for. There will be links etc at the bottom. The close set […]

SNAPSHOT! Beaumaris, A Light Lunch.

Arrival in Bangor went trouble free. The train was a “proper” one with carriages and a locomotive. Like having a train set again. Out and about today, making the most of the daylight before Winter’s icy hands get a grip on things and the long, languid days fade until the fresh buds of next spring. The destination for today is North Wales, Beaumaris on Angelsey to be exact. It’s a train and bus exploration so it will be interesting. It will also involve cake, coffee etc at some point.

SNAPSHOT! Birkenhead, A Walk In The Park.

It’s been an odd week, nothing drastic or bad, just oddly uncooperative, like trying to run up the down escalator. It’s possible but tricky and time consuming. Anyway rather than bounce around the house like a grumpy ping pong ball I have come out and onto the Wirral, over the water from Liverpool. It’s not a long journey but long enough to relax and watch the world go by. First […]

SNAPSHOT! Chorley, Going Live With The Music.

I took a ride over to Chorley yesterday evening, it was the second night of the always entertaining Chorley Live music event, where shops, pubs and squares become venues for live music and the spoken word. It’s a great night out and has a fixed place on my calendar. There’s a mix of music types and performance, just get your entry wristband, it’s £5 and covers both nights Some Links […]
