A few days back I took a trip down to Wrexham. The weather around these parts has slipped back into unfriendly/uncooperative mode but I didn’t feel like sitting in the house staring out of the window. It’s a relatively easy journey and it meant that I wouldn’t be sat sitting at home twiddling my thumbs. It was to be a day out with no set agenda, just go, see, eat some food, perhaps drink some beer.
Sometimes when I’m out and about on my travels I drop on an unexpected treat, this latest one was on Saturday just gone by. The year is slowly getting it’s things together ready to be on it’s way, so the day’s are starting to shorten and the weather is getting a bit more unfriendly. Not the sort of situation that encourage me to be out and about. Nevertheless I decided on a trip up to Morecambe, an easy journey, not too long and there would be plenty of places to shelter in case things got a bit on the inclement side.
This weekend past I took a trip up to Silloth on the Solway Coast. It’s a place I hadn’t been to for quite a while and I had the urge to catch up with the town, to see what was as I remembered it and what might have changed.
I had a spare weekend coming up and as the days are beginning to shorten as the year tap dances itself towards autumn I though I would take a trip down to Cardiff. I’ve made a few visits to the area now so this time I thought I would leave the city centre mostly on the back burner and go out to Barry and Barry Island.
A bit of a then and now post, again from Wales. I took a trip down to Rhyl on the North Wales coast to take look at the revamped Queens market. It’s a project that seems to have been dawdling along for a while, a side effect of streams of project updates is that I end up feeling that things have been going on for longer than they have
It was the weekend of the annual flower show and naturally I hadn’t been sice last year. Shows like this are the sort of events I really enjoy. Outdoors, demonstrations, plenty to see and hear, plenty fun to be had.
